Hi folks,

I am looking to make a map where an icon represent a group of elements
like SITEA, SITEB, etc ... where the group SITEA contains a routeur, a server a switch ... each host includes multiple items.

When a trigger in ON on one of these items, then the icon can highlight that "there is a problem on system of the group SITEA"

What would be smart is to be able to deal with group items (whatever the host) so I could then compose an applicative map with only few icons (a kind of Business Process View in TNG from CA)

"oracle application server stuff" : (http server on server B + ldap check on server A + db listener on server C + space on the server C etc ....)

Any ideas to do such thing ?

Thank in advance

Regards

Philippe

Basically you're looking for integration of IT Services (business view) and map, aren't you? I plan to implement map elements which would show status of a specific IT Service.

Hi alexei

Yes for the second part of the question.

The first question was about the map itself and the host
Actually, we have a map and we can just make one icon link to one item
It will be nice to be able to have an icon for a host ie all the items of that host will be linked to the same icon.
I would say it is a classical view of map where multple alert highlight one single icon.

About the Business View, I have worked a lot with Unicenter TNG on "Business Process View" and it is a very efficient way to supervize applications so if Zabbix can do such thing wouahh !!!!

About the IT services
as I understand, the IT Services is more a long time survey
where I can see that "Application X" is available at 99,9% since a year.

what I suggest about the map and a group of items is a more reactive view
if one trigger of the items group is ON, then the icon turns ON

The administrator can know then there is a problem on a item but he knows which applications is impacted because one items can be a part of several items groups.
