Hi all,

since i installed Zabbix, i get the following in my event logs:

Event ID: 2019
Source: Srv
Description: The server was unable to allocate from the system nonpaged pool because the pool was empty.

According to this KB (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q272568&) it is caused by Symantec AV, although this is not installed.

Now since this started when i installed the agents I suspect a memory leak in the agent. Can someone verify this?

Thanks in advance

EriSan

run task manager, select "processes" click to mem. And you view proccess sort by used memory.

Well, i'm monitoring the paged pool bytes of the zabbix agent:

It increases with 4kB every 10 minutes.

 Is nobody else seeing this ????

what's the syntax of the item to watch zabbix pool memory? (I'm to lazy to look it up)
I'll see if it's happening on my systems

PerfCounter = Memory[ZabbixPPB],"\Process(ZabbixW32)\Pool Paged Bytes",5

Alexei,

Can you please give this problem a look?
I had to shutdown all the agents to prevent the problems mentioned in my first post.

Am I the only one with this problem?
I have this on different IBM servers as wel as on normal PC's.

If you need more information, just let me know, i'll be glad to help out and solve this.

that syntax didn't seem to work, maybe I fat fingered something, but adding an item for perf_counter[\Process(ZabbixW32)\Pool Paged Bytes] did the trick.

mine has been holding rock solid steady at 29588 for a few hours now.

I'm running the zabbixw32.exe that came with alpha12

hey EriSan,

still holding at 29588 so I am not seeing a leak here.
this was occuring on all your win32 installs?

Yes, on every install. Pitty though as i realy like zabbix.
Hope this can be solved.

Are u using Active checks?

Yesterday i checked again and zabbix pooled memory reached close to 5 Mb. Went to services to shutdown the zabbix agent----> BSOD (on 2 different pc's)

Something else to check, are your windows boxes fully patched?
If not, could you give me a list of the patches you don't have installed. I will try to remove them and see if this solves the problem. Could be an incompatibility with a certain ms patch.

errr. sorry. they upgraded that box to 2003 last weekend, I hadn't realized.

I don't admin the windows boxes here, we only have a few and they are mainly just for notes so the notesadmins do it. when I went back and checked the OS string I realized that they finally upgraded this last box. :(

and no, it wasn't using an active check. standard zabbix agent with the perf_counter[] item.

sorry to have caused confusion. the good news is that it looks fine on 2003?!!?

Very very strange, is nobody else having this problem?

I stopped using the agent because after a while the server (which has the agent installed) stops responding, and when trying to stop the Zabbix_agent service you get a .... BSOD.

Hope someone can give this a look.
