I am looking for a pre-compiled binary for zabbix agent for the mac. I do not want to have to install the dev tools onto all of your production mac servers.
Does anyone know of this in existance or how to make it ?
Thanks heaps.

I'm going to be deploying the Zabbix agent to Mac servers over the next few days, so I'll let you know how I get on.
At the moment, I have pre-edited the zabbix sourcecode and scripted the install so its just a case of running an install script, but that still doesn't get around install XCode! Let me know if you want a list of my modifications if your struggling to compile the agent.
Its possible to statically compile Zabbix, so it has all the dependencies it needs but I'm not sure haw compatable this is with different patchlevels of the Mac server. This is something I will find out in the next few days!
Watch this space!!

John

Great stuff,
I look forward to seeing how you go. As I am eager to role out with zabbix

If you give me SSH access to a Mac box, I could make sure that ZABBIX 1.1beta2 can be cleanly compiled and I could also make the compiled agent available for everyone from www.zabbix.com.
Let me know if you're interested.

Hi,
I would be over the moon if you could do that. But our network does not allow for that.
Is there anything that I can do to make it so. I would be more than happy to post it on zabbix.
I am a huge mac user, and this is the only monitoring I have found that works well for MAC.
Let me know what I can do to make this happen for you.
Very interested.
By the way, are you guys running MAC OS 10.x? If so, I could use SourceForge's compile farm.
