I read in the zabbix 1.0 Manual :

ZabbixW32 is ZABBIX agent for Win32 systems. It will work on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. ZabbixW32 doesn't work on other Windows platforms.

I confirmed the zabbixw32 service won't start on Windows 2003 server (same problem "the service did not respond in a timeley fashion"), which stinks for me because we have quite a few of those.

Any info on when/if Win2003 will be supported?

-thanks much

Friend of mine had the same issue. However, it turned out that the configuration file syntax was incorrect which caused the service not to start. Make sure its set ok and in the right location. Try following the windows agent setup instructions to the letter from Alexei's Zabbix manual ... that alleviated his problem; should help for you.

ZABBIX agent does work under Windows 2003!

Acknowledged.. my question is whether it was planned to be supported at any point. We have half our servers running 2003 so this point is important for us.

thanks!

Azrael - think I've got all that correct, Ill double check. :)
