How to improve the information display ?

Hello,

i'm monitoring a cisco switch and I would change the display of some information. By exemple for the status of the interface (UP / DOWN) the switch send me a integer (1 or 2). I would interpret the integer 1 by the word UP and the integer 2 by the word DOWN.

How can I do this ?

Hi,

Go to Configuration => General => Value mapping

Create a value map with:
1 => UP
2 => DOWN

After that in your items set in Show Value your value map.

thanks for your help, I found the value mapping and I created what I need but I can't find in my items properties where I can set in the use of the value mapping.

I use zabbix 1.4.1, could you explain me ?

Value map can be used only with Numeric(integer).
