Zabbix and Whatsapp Alerting

Hi , We created simple script for whatsapp and zabbix alerting for people on the homelab or people that cannot use meta api since it requires business and payment ( As far as i know) . We made a docker image for easier integration or just node js .

On readme it already includes on how to add it on zabbix media type and what are needed.

It uses personal whatsapp account by linking device using qr code by visiting and also queued the alert (Tried doing burst send and i got banned so queueing is added) .

Filter Problem Widget by Host Tags

I am trying to build Problem widgets to show only my Servers.. I have tagged the servers on the Host Level as NODE TYPE: SERVER.

When I build the widget, nothing shows..... what am I doing wrong?

MS Teams media fails with error Sending Failed: (and no details)

Update; I received an email from microsoft regarding these failures, it had no additional information, just failed.

Solved; I just realized there is a more appropriate "MS Teams Workflow webhook" version, entered that and it works.

My server is currently Zabbix 7.0.25 LTS
Originally I got error Teams failed; No media defined for user. - discovered the media didn't save somehow. Fixed that. Now I'm up against this blank error.

I verified my teams webhook URL works in OpenCanary. It is in the form of this below and was created with Workflow / Power Automate.

I wonder why people who have mastered Zabbix are using Jira and voting for new features that regular and novice users don't need. And yet, simple queries that are needed to simplify Zabbix are ignored as useless?

Add Feature to Adding Problems Duration to Exclude Downtime SLA

Rather than adding downtime exclusions to service SLAs, it would be faster to add updated problem history to the SLA exclusions. This would make SLA calculations more accurate.

I hope this feature is available because it will greatly simplify SLA calculations for services.

Feature request ZBXNEXT-10614 posted on Zabbix Support portal. With more votes, the feature may be prioritized.

When displaying a SystemD service status, we can see its memory consumption.

Since Zabbix Agent2 can monitor SystemD services, it reads the SystemD dbus and returns many data from each service. However, it does not return memory information for each service.
When querying a service with Zabbix Agent2, it provides data such as this:

According to the Zabbix documentation, the Agent's "systemd.unit.get" key "returns all properties of a systemd unit".
This is not really accurate. It does not return memory properties from a SystemD service.
There is no memory information, even though it is provided by SystemD.

Therefore, by default, it's not possible to create a dependent item to extract this information.
To get the service memory information, it is necessary to either add a custom UserParameter or allow a system.run[...] key to query this data. Both methods require reconfiguring Zabbix Agent2 and restarting it which may not be optimal for many host setups.

Please, add the memory information to the systemd.unit.get item key, and create a new dependent item (such as "{#UNIT.NAME}: Service Memory Usage") for the SystemD standard template.
I find this information very usefull to know if a service is consuming too much memory.

Geomap solution for visualizing IoT devices' online status

Hey,

I have thousands of let's say IoT devices (domestically, not internationally). They can have an online status of ok, partial failure or offline. I want to map them on Geomap, so that one can see with one look if there are "general connectivity" issues in some area. For example, mobile operator servicing their towers in an area causing partial failures on devices using their SIMs. The device status comes from external DB, there are no Zabbix agents installed on devices.

Zabbix Geomap is not useful for this case.

I am not interested in these hosts' alerts, I only care about their online status represented by colour
Host status (colour) on the map is based on alert level and creating those would drown "actual alerts" (I may be wrong and there might be a way around this)
There may be hundreds of devices in a city area, so "colored dots" would be more useful than normal pins Zabbix uses
Zooming in-and-out should be fast
Very nice bonus: timeline visualization and/or animation for given time period (think of doomsday movies with animations of visualizing how killer virus spreads from origin point to whole world :-) )

My AI friend suggested Grafana as the best(?) option for visualizing that. Has anyone done something similar using Grafana or some other platform? Ideas? Experiences?

I am setting up an enterprise level project and want to use zabbix as monitoring tool.
i am confused b/w 7.0 vs 7.4 , which version to use.

I am using two servers for monitoring and using mariadb galera as a database and a galera arbitrator for quorum vote.
I am using keepalived and rsync process.

Kinldy suggest me any other information to make it more better and robust.

Also is there any vulnerability or loop hole in the code of zabbix that can be a threat for an enterprise level, as i am new to the tool.
