How to monitor the pop3-ssl service with zabbix 3.0

    Hi,

I'm trying to monitor the pop3-ssl Service with zabbix but can't get it to work.

I tried to use the follwing Keys for the item:
    net.tcp.service[,,995]
    net.tcp.service[,995]
    net.tcp.service[995]
    net.tcp.service[pop3s,,995]
    net.tcp.service[pop3s]

but anything returns a "Invalid first parameter." error.
The same es for the Bind9 DNS Service. I just need to know if the service is running.

    How to do that?
    Thanks Peter

I am having the same issue.

I want to monitor the Splunkd service on a Windows server using net.tcp.service[SplunkD] and the item just returns "Invalid first parameter."

I've also tried the service.info[splunkd,] (with and without comma, and using state as parameter). This way, Zabbix seems to recognize the service and returns me some data but it doesn't matter what I do to the service, it is always returning 0, while it should return 0 only when it is running. That way, the monitor is useless.

    What can I be missing?

Worked for me (so far, still doing some tests).
Those are the steps I did.
      1 - Create an Application Item (your.service.name)
      2 - Create an Item:
      Name: Your service is running
      Type: Zabbix agent
Key: service.info[servicename] (you must get this name on the Windows host
      Type of Information: Numeric (unsigned)
      Data type: Decimal
      Units:
      Use custom multiplier: UNCHECKED
      Update Interval: you decide
      Store value: As is
      Show value: Windows Service State
      Applications: Your application name.

Let me know if it works for you.
