Hello Zabbix Community!

I can't be the only one who is debating zabbix vs nagios with friends and foes around the office. Today i lost an argument so no i'm forced to use a nagios mousemat the next week....

My suggestion is that Alexei should start selling merchandise. Stuff like mugs, t-shirts mousemats etc.
It can be used as a way for people to fund Zabbix just like nagios does it over at CafePress:
http://www.cafepress.com/nagios

I would love to clean the kitchen for mugs and have those blasted nagios lovers drink coffee the only way.
From a Zabbix mug.

Besides zabbix logo is much nicer than that buggyman logo nagios is taunting around with.

just a my 2 cents!

Regards,

Simon

You'll be using Nagios mousemat next week?! Oh no... what a shame! ;)

Would you be ready to buy merchandise with a single ZABBIX red logo? Any design ideas? Perhaps it is time for a ZABBIX logo/mascot competition?! :)

Maybe Zabbix need's a pitch/slogan as well?
Hmm let me think... 'just do it' ... no somebody else got that one...

Actually i would buy a mug with the simple red banner. Compared to Nagios 'scary' font it is much prettier on the desk. But a mascot would be great!

i wish i could draw. i envision an octopus with several tenticles reaching out in different directions to monitor the 'pulse' of your remote servers.

The attached is not a design idea...just a few minutes work for fun.

Hm, anyone playing (a)d&d? A creature like an beholder would be a nice mascot too. Maybe one that's not so scary looking, but the idea with a lot of eyes and different skills isn't that bad for monitoring software.

fab> the idea is quite good, but in my oppinion a bit too geeky.

As an example take a look at FreeBSD we all love Beastie, but go place an order on an executives desk with the mascots of a beholder and a cute Daemon....

It just makes it harder to convince 'the suits' that you are delivering something
reliable and not something you used the evening to color-paint in your basement ;)

I'd like to see something neutral. No evil stuff please :)

Define evil, please.

(joke)

Perhaps the name Zabbix on a charted background? Something like the attached?

I wish I was artistic enough to come up with something... anyone else want to throw anything into the pot for this? I'd like to see some mascot/logo too!

Not a bad idea: selecting an animal as the ZABBIX mascot, the way O'Reilly does with their books, is definitively a sign of style :-)

The zebbra in red is pleasant -:)

I vote +1 !

Cheers,
