I am hoping someone can help. I want to know what is needed to get zabbix fully installed and up and running. Does a comprehensive install guide exist for the beginer? I want the following:

What flavor and version of linux works best and is easiest to use?
What packages (all files) need to be installed before starting to install linux?
Where do you get these packages?

Each time I think I am there, another package needs to be installed that is not found in, or a part of Mandrake 10.1 (what I am currently using).

My current issue is that something related to net-snmp is not complete and zabbix will not compile. When I go to install all the net-snmp components, something else is needed.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ethan

Hi,

when I installed Zabbix I wrote down all the steps involved to run on Fedora Care 3. It's kinda like a noob guide, everybody can install Zabbix. PM me you email address and I'll send you the draft.

I'm still working on the final version that I will post on the forum within a couple days (weekend?).

Greetings Eric
