What is the fastest way to get zabbix up and running for 250 servers

I have been wondering and working on finding ways of getting zabbix up and running really quick (less than 24 hours) for 250 odd servers/devices

I think that XML import, templates and statically compiled agents is what you need. :)

Don't forget about using something like puppet or cfengine to configure and maybe push out the agents.

24 hours might be a little ambitious. :-)
