After upgrading zabbix from 1.6.5 to 1.6.6 zabbix_agentd reports the following errors in logs:

Linux-Systems:
21763:20090910:020718 Can't open JSON object or array ""delay":"5","lastlogsize":"0"},{"key":"net.tcp.port[,3551]","del"

Windows-Systems:

9344:20090910:023407 Can't open jason object
9344:20090910:023607 Can't open jason object

It seems to be the same error as reportet in ZBX-668 which should be fixed in 1.6.2 - But now it seems to be back...

What could I do to fix this error??

And the main problem is not the logentry. With zabbix_agentd 1.6.6 NO item-value is sent to zabbix-server!

I've downgraded the agents to 1.6.5 - everything works fine. Whats going on with the 1.6.6-version? Does no one else has tested the current release?

Note that this only affects the active agents.

Whats going on with development of zabbix?
This is a major bug and it won't get fixed since 1 month! Still with the last nightly build (revision 8031) the bug isn't fixed.

But for all that, some additional infos about the behaviour of buggy zabbix_agentd versions:
Normaly zabbix logentry on starting is:
3920:20090914:073654 zabbix_agentd started. ZABBIX 1.6.5 (revision 7409).
on the newer (buggy) nightly build the revision number is only a placeholder/variable:
868:20091005:200752 zabbix_agentd started. ZABBIX 1.6.7 (revision {ZABBIX_REVISION}).

Hi all!
This issue has been fixed in version pre1.6.7, revision 8135.

Hi igor

how about updating the precompiled agents for AIX 5.3,
now that 1.6.7 has been released.

We need it.

Thanks and regards

Norbert.

Hi igor

thanks a lot.
Unfortunately our MS Exchange infrastructure blocked this "exe" file
successfully. So, it didn't arrive.
I am trying to get the binary directly from the Exchange people, but I'm not sure whether
this will work.
Can you please zip or gzip it and send it, again.
Thanks !

Sorry for the inconvenience.

UPDATE: The zipped file Igor did send me worked and the agent is now running fine on one of our
AIX 5.3 system. Thanks a lot for the incredible support ! The problem seems to be solved.

Regards

Norbert.

Hi all,

I'm just starting with Zabbix and tried to monitor my workstation with Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit using zabbix_agentd.exe in version 1.8 or 1.8.1.

Unfortunatly this seems not functional.... In the zabbix_agentd logfile I receive the "Can't parse list of active checks. Can't open JSON" Error and the agent doesn't report anything to the zabbix server.

Reading the discussion here and the changelogs, the error should be fixed since 1.6.7.
Maybe this comes back because of Windows 7.
Is there anything I can do? A workaround?
All my searches came to this thread and the corresponding bug/fix in 1.6.6 and 1.6.7, so nothing that helps me.

Regards
Michael
