Hi everybody

I'm trying to monitor two ESX 4 on my network with Zabbix:
- network, cpu, ram ... etc

What is for you the best way?

Zabbix agent : I read that install rpm agent on ESX 3.X works but nothing concerning ESX 4?
SNMP : Does anybody can tell me the steps?
Via Vsphere : ?

Every sugestion will be greatfull :)

Thanks !

PS : Sorry for my "English"

Hi,
The best way is through the CIM servers integrated into ESX 4.

@vinny

Thanks for your advice, I didn't know CIM, what is the advantage regarding to SNMP ?

More information ? Or easier (CIM seems not to be present in zabbix monitoring in native) ?

@vinny

@vinny

Hi,
I’ve configured the ESX to access the VMware and the Dell MIBs
I’ve a lot of information but not what I need.. Perhaps they are very hide.
Is it better to monitor with CIM server?? I read documentations about this but I’m a little bit lost.
I want to gather information about ESX that I see in my vshpere client :
- Network Information : ISCI connection, LAN connection…
- CPU use
- Electrical Alimentation : (I found this information with SNMP
- Ram
Do you have an example of using the CIM server ?

Thanks a lot.
