Hi Guys,
For my work i need to write a paper about monitoring tool, we are propably gonna implement this solution in our nertwork...
Because we are all a fan of our cool zabbix tool. Can you all tell me youre reasons why Zabbix is better then for example Cacti or, Zenoss, or Nagios...??
Grz Robbert
- cacti is only data visualisation , not real monitoring AFAIK...
- nagios was not user friendly for me and I did not like configuration in text files..
- zabbix has native agent
- ...
- zabbix is better :)) Try it and you will see

i worked with "big sister" some years ago, but that wasn't really what i wanted.
Zabbix is the best choice for me because it is very easy to make the first steps and also easy to configure complex monitoring if you want.
Try it, understand it, love it, improve it!

What makes zabbix so powerful is that you can very very quickly and easily set up a bunch of monitoring graphs that will give you an overview of how your system is performing.
Being able to see at a glance what your system is doing and knowing what is "normal" allows you to get a good idea of the health of your system.
But wait! There's more!
The triggers and actions, provide even more functionality to allow you to automate the process of being notified of important events.
Maps! Just because they are Gee Whiz!
User Parameters! How cool are those? Specify a command that returns some useful data/numbers and let Zabbix take care of the rest. That makes it trivial to monitor some strange things.
All this and more! And, it is easy!
The downside? I've not yet scratched the surface of what I could do with it. Complex, drill down maps. Fancy triggers. Templates. Who knows what else? I'm waiting for someone else to come up with the ideas that I can implement.
