Hi,
I'm new to Zabbix, and I can't get the following to work:
I'm using one machine only, with a server and an agent, so there should be no firewall problems. I've made two items:
vfs.file.cksum[/etc/zabbix/passive]
vfs.file.cksum[/etc/zabbix/active]
"ZABBIX agent" and "ZABBIX agent (active)" respectively. I've made a trigger for each.
The passive one works fine: I can see in the agent log that the server requests the value, and I can graph it just fine. The active one doesn't work at all. Nothing in either log. No values or changes ever get to the server.
So: Is this supposed to work? What can I do?
edit: OK, I got it to work as described. It appears that hostnames work better than ip numbers.
