Hi,

first of all thanks to the Zabbix Team and all programmers to build this great project.

But, one thing I have to said:

The Forum isnŽt so good. There are many better Forums out there in www, why you use this one? The worst thing is the searchfunction. Often you search for a phrase, but this search ignore words with less than 4 charakters so many phrases like errormessages wouldnŽt be find.

Maybe there is a way to change the Forum :)

I have to agree that the search function is frustrating... at least for me, because I would like to search for AIX and I can't... I have to use Google with the site keyword ( for example, AIX site:www.zabbix.com/forum ). If you have had the same problem as me and would like to search for words that are less than 4 letters, this could work for you, too...

Hi Wurm,

Thats a good idea. I hope IŽll remember it, when I want to search a 3 character word. ;)

I also agree that the search function could use an overhaul. I have made mention of it before and I still run into the same problems.

The big problem (made mention by many people) is that many newcomers post about topics that have been mentioned before in other posts because the search function doesn't return useful results.

I read a topic about a month ago and though "interesting, I will have to remember that". The other day I ran into a problem and I remembered that topic post, however, I couldn't remember all of the details. Something about logs, w32, and str() function. The search was completly useless. The few results returned had nothing to do with what I was looking for. Thankfully GIS (google internet search) came through for me.

I believe it was the mathematician David Ponder who said "It doesn't matter what you know, just don't forget where to look it up".

A new search function would be excelent way to help people not forget 'where to look it up'.
