monitor router snmp

hello,
i have installed zabbix v1.0
i wanted to monitor a host snmp.
i followed the manual . i have added item but no data found for these item. (in latest data : i see the description , and then -- for latest change and the other field)
what's the problem?
does snmp monitor work on zabbix?
must i install a new version of zabbix?

SNMP works from Zabbix just fine. You might check to make sure that they host running Zabbix server can pull the SNMP data directly from the command line. See the manual for detailed instructions on how to test it from the command line. Also check your /tmp/zabbix_suckerd.log file for any errors or clues as to whats going wrong.
