It would be very nice to have a 95% calculation of bandwith in the system. Is this already possible this way or should it be added ?

I am sorry but, what do you mean?

When you are collection all the traffic, you only pick out the highest top and calculate 95% of that.

still not sure wether i understand:

do you mean:
take last x sample, build average, take 95% of that value as result?

I have found the document again.

Will this be a feature in the future ? It would be really nice to have this.

Does nobody know this feature ? It's very nice for hosting-services where a lot of 95% of a line is sold.

Yes, I too need this feature. Internap charges for their bandwidth with this. I would like to know how to do this in Zabbix.

Alexei, would you look at this ? If you want I have some very nice code for you that can count the 95% rule with RDD-tool.

This would be a very nice feature !

Is this going to be integrated ? would be very nice ! Seriously!

Please email the code to me at james_wells@users.sourceforge.net and I will try to make a patch to support it in Zabbix.

Nope, got enough info, unfotunately, my development machine is still in the shop. :( Was supposed to be back by now.

PS. This little fiasco with my dev machine has taught me a very valuable lesson. Never, Never buy a system with the extended warrenty. :(

You can get a lot of code that would be useful for zabbix from cacti.

Ow that's really a pitty. The positive thing is that you learn of everything every day... Keep Positive thinking ;) Wish you luck with that off course !

We keep in touch !

Has anyone gotten this to work?

Anybody developed any patch for 95th percentile? Cacti has this function. As I understand cacti is creating logs in the log folder from which the 95th percentile script is creating snapshots for the calculation. But I don't find any log files that zabbix is making(except server logs and agentd logs). outside the database. Please publish here if anybody achieve this goal.

Here is some urls from which developers can find useful things

The 95% rule was addet to ZABBIX Roadmap for next stable release. The Roadmap is not made public yet.

Great that is has been added (I think it is now ?) But I can't find it in the docs how to use it or to add it to a network graph.

Can someone explain this ?

OK, it's not included for now, this can be done in 1.4 maybe.

So we have to add this feature ourself. Someone already played with it, in the past... I was not able to do it.

arbitrary percentiles would also be good (e.g. 50th, 90th, 99th, 99.9th)

Hi -

I'm eager to move from Cacti. This is the single item that is preventing me from doing this :)

Anyone else having much luck? Slated for 1.5, I still don't see it in 1.6.

Thanks
