Zabbix 1.6.4 agent not compatible with W2K

I installed the Windows 1.6.4 32 bit agent onto nine Windows 2000 machines. On each machine, the agent will run for about 1 minute then die out. The logs do not indicate why, even with tracing set to 4.

I replaced the binaries with 1.4.4 agents and everything works just fine.

I've had the same problem, and I discovered that asking for "system.uptime" was crashing the agent. I believe that there might be more items doing this (i think cpu load is one of them).

I suggest that you turn off all of your items for that server and turn them back on one by one to see which one is crashing the agent.

Thanks for the confirmation. I simply reverted those machines back to the 1.4.4 agent.

I have the same problem and went back to version 1.4.4. The machine began to quickly consume the RAM to its limit (Gigabytes. ..) become impossible (the normal consumption would be somewhere around 6.5 Mb)

1.6.4 agent works fine on W2K3.

Is there a guide somehwere?

And most important where cna I find the windows 1.6.4 installer ? it's not listed under downloads

Hi all!

We had same problems with 1.6.4 on different Win2000-Servers (SP4). 1.6.1 was problematic, too (exact same behaviour).
Downgrade to 1.4.4 runs fine.

In summary it relates to a call to freeaddrinfo which requires a work around in Windows 2000. It'd be great if we could get this fixed, I gave it a shot, but its a bit beyond my skills.
