Installing Zabbix agent on Mac OSX

    Good morning everyone,

I would like to install a Zabbix agent on Mac OS but I don't know how to do, I tried to compile it, unfortunaltely, it didn't worked (compiling was fine but I can't add the binary into /etc/init.d because /etc/init.d folder doesn't exist).

Does a pre-compiled Mac OS package exist ? Did someone managed to install an agent on Mac OS ? How to do ?

    Thanks a lot

    hi!

You probably don't need to put it exactly in init.d, just somewhere in Applications and then link it in autostart.

For what version of OS X did you compile?
    I've got no luck with:
    Darwin kiwano.local 9.6.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.6.0: Mon Nov 24 17:37:00 PST 2008; root:xnu-1228.9.59~1/RELEASE_I386 i386

bumping this thread in case someone has a precompiled mac agent or steps to compile one from scratch.

      thanks!

There are instructions for compiling for OS X 10.5 around on the internet as well as buried in these forums.

There are issues compiling for 10.6, however, as the resolv libraries are different. I have not been able to compile under 10.6 as yet.

Do you happen to be a happy owner of a compiled client?
Would you share it with us?

If you'll look closely at the quote I said I had not yet been able to compile.

I haven't tried an agent-only compile. My server+agent compile failed to work for 1.7.x and it was resolver library related.

Vote for a Precompiled Mac Client

If you want a pre-compiled agent vote for this:
