unexpected EOF on client connection: Zabbix 1.8, postgres 8.3

Hi,
I just updated my zabbix server from 1.6 to 1.8 and I am now getting the error "unexpected EOF on client connection" in the postgres log file whilst no information is saved in the database. I tried to update to the nigtly build zabbix-1.8.x-9529 and the error is still persistant.
Increasing zabbix log verbosity is not helping since no information regarding the connections is logged.

I have resolved the issue adding CacheSize=64M to the server configuration and everything working fine now.

However, the web interface is terribly slow and everytime I access the web interface cpu usage spikes like crazy. I have already updated the web frontend to the one in the nightly builds.

Any ideas or possible solutions please?
