    Users common too slowly

    Friends,

we have a huge slow with users who are not administrators. By placing the user with administrator access is normal.

Our environment has 841 host monitored, including servers and network assets.

Does anyone know what can be?

    We are using version 1.8.6

I've seen this same issue w/our installations.. as recently as 1.8.10. We obviously don't want all of our users to have this level of access, however that is the only thing we've been able to do to make the interface usability acceptable. Everything seems to be affected.. screen loading, latest data, events, etc.. As soon as set "user type" to "Zabbix Super Admin", the web interface speeds up. "Zabbix Admin" behaves no differently.

I do not know way you get different user experience depending on security level for user.
But if you users see performance problems you should look into the performance of your zabbix environment. Here is two general links to start with:
In the past, quite often Zabbix users have been puzzled regarding some server tuning parameters – for example, how many pollers do they need? It was usually determined based on experience, testing and a bit of guesstimating. No more fuzzy attempts – get hard facts with Zabbix 1.8.5. UPDATED 2011.11.02: new downloadable template version v2 […]

      Hope this help.

Hi, performance in general of my environment is fine. We are exceeding our NPVS requirements, closely monitor zabbix processes (as referenced in that blog post), and have followed all of the recommended performance tuning practices (tuning MySQL, partitioning history & trending tables, use proxies, splitting up the server, database server, front end server, tuned the number of running processes, etc...) The only issue we have is specifically a difference in web UI responsiveness between regular user accounts, Zabbix Admins, and Zabbix Super Admins. The UI is terribly slow for all non-Zabbix Super Admin accounts for some reason. As soon as we bump up the user type to Zabbix Super Admin, UI performance for the changed account improves drastically.

Hi Schlag, did you see Richlv responds on the IRC?:
[2012-01-10 07:57:15] <Richlv> schlag_, sounds like permission checks. do you have lots of objects (hosts, users etc) ?
              /Erik

@ schlag, did you find a solution to your problem ?

We are running a Zabbix 1.8.6 environment, and are seeing exactly the same issues, in an 750 host environment with all tuning techniques followed:-

                >followed all of the recommended performance tuning practices (tuning MySQL, partitioning history & trending tables, use proxies, splitting up the server, database server, front end server, tuned the number of running processes, etc...) The following SQL seems to be the issue

                For normal admin user

                SELECT DISTINCT g.* FROM groups g,rights r,users_groups ug,hosts_groups hg,hosts h WHERE ((g.groupid BETWEEN 100000000000000 AND 199999999999999)) AND r.id=g.groupid AND r.groupid=ug.usrgrpid AND ug.userid=100100000000992 AND r.permission>=2 AND NOT EXISTS( SELECT gg.groupid FROM groups gg, rights rr, users_groups ugg WHERE rr.id=g.groupid AND rr.groupid=ugg.usrgrpid AND ugg.userid=100100000000992 AND rr.permission<2) AND hg.groupid=g.groupid AND h.hostid=hg.hostid AND h.status=0 AND EXISTS (SELECT i.hostid FROM items i WHERE hg.hostid=i.hostid AND (i.status=0 OR i.status=3) AND i.lastvalue IS NOT NULL)

                Took 25secs to execute

                For Super Admin

                SELECT DISTINCT g.* FROM groups g,hosts_groups hg,hosts h WHERE ((g.groupid BETWEEN 100000000000000 AND 199999999999999)) AND hg.groupid=g.groupid AND h.hostid=hg.hostid AND h.status=0 AND EXISTS (SELECT i.hostid FROM items i WHERE hg.hostid=i.hostid AND (i.status=0 OR i.status=3) AND i.lastvalue IS NOT NULL)

                Took only 0.22 secs

We have 103 user groups and 962 users defined in Zabbix
