    mispel (ipk) for zabbix agent

    hi ,

Anybody created or know zabbix agent for openwrt devices(.ipk). Please reply if anybody knows it. I know only one mispel for zabbix and it is not supporting the in and out traffic through its interfaces.
The package I installed is here

    ipkg install http://mirror.opf.slu.cz/zabbix/zabb...ta8_mipsel.ipk

    This is my build

    Hello,

this build was mad by me and I am planing to build 1.1 agent too. But I am in little time pressure. I will put info about new package here.

Just about incomming and outgoing statistic on br0. It is problem of linux+zabbix, not mipsel builld. Zabbix does not see bridge interfacess traffic.
Solution which I use is that I break bridge into regular interfaces on mipsel. In most situations, I do not need to bridge wireless and lan, I use routing between them.

    brctl delbr br0
will do work for you. But be afraid ! It will kill lan side IP! You have to set IP to eth0 or wth1. Than you will see traffic on iface eth0 and eth1.

Be patient, I will put binaries on place soon.

      limo,
Thanks for your reply. If you are planning to build 1.1 ipk please make sure that we can monitor traffic through br0,vlan etc.

        Packages for openwrt

        Hi to all,

after couple of problems, I built packages of zabbix1.1 for openwrt. Feel free to test and give me info if everything is ok please.

Here is ipkg repository (in ipkg.conf):
        src zabbix http://mirror.opf.slu.cz/ipkg-asus

there is zabbix-agent, zabbix-sender and zabbix-server package. If you need to run zabbix-server, you need libmysqlclient and little hacks with LD_PRELOAD. Sorry for it. No time to repair now.

Interface statistics are supported but problem with bridge still exists. So you cannot meassure interface traffic on bridge.

        Enjoy,
        Lukas

Thanks for the package. I tested the ipk and bin.
I found some problem with the .ipk package(zabbix_agentd). Like if we give an item net.if.in[br0] or netloadin1[br0] it will not work. I tried zabbix_get from server for checking it but the reply was NOTSUPPORTED.
Instead of ipk I tried with bin package and it working good.

          Thanking you & Good luck

Interesting. Are you sure? That binaries are absolutely same... this should not be possible. If netload[br0] does not work in one, it will not work in another too..

Do not forget that user zabbix must have rights to /tmp for writing... It is problem very offten. And do not trust br0 interface statistics. On linux, it will show you only amount of data going DIRECTLY to ip of the bridge, not ACROSS bridge!

Not only in br0 I tested it with netloadin1[eth0] and the result was same . I can see the all the values in /tmp/zabbix_agentd.tmp file as netloadin1[eth0] "xxxxxx" , but when I added the client's item to the server it shows
Parameter [net.if.in[eth0]] is not supported by agent on host [client1] Old status [0]
Parameter [netloadin1[eth0]] is not supported by agent on host [client1] Old status [0]
also I tried to collect the value using zabbix_get command using the same keys but everytime it returned Notsupported message.

Its working fine with the binary package

Now the problem is solved , I think its becuase lack of diskspace on my routers . I reinstalled the router and got more space than before. Now I can install .ipk and its working fine . Thanks for this mipsel package
