    net-snmp library not found !

CentOS 4.4 (PS i did not do a net-snmp-5.4.tar.gz but i used rpm for netsnmp-devel while the rest is pre-installed) assuming zabbix 1.3.6 can support snmp ver 5.1.2

    rpm -qa | grep snmp
    net-snmp-libs 5.1.2-11EL4.7
    net-snmp-5.1.2-11EL4.7
    net-snmp-utils 5.1.2-11EL4.7
    net-snmp-devel 5.1.2-11EL4.7

    find / | grep libnetsnmp
/usr/lib/libnetsnmp.so (correctly linked with ls -l command)
    /usr/lib/libnetsnmp.so.5
    /usr/lib/libnetsnmp.a
    and other various files

    ./configure --enable-server --with-net-snmp --with-mysql --jabber libcurl
    checking for net-snmp-config.../usr/bin/net-snmp-config
checking main in -lnetsnmp ... no
configure: error : Not found NET-SNMP library

    pls help...

configure error :wrong path for net-snmp lib DIR

    _libnetsnmp_libdir="`$_libnetsnmp_config --libdir`"

ya i find the above sentence in "vi zabbix/configure" and change to --libs

    net-snmp complied successfully then...

        hello

        sorrie for the late reply

this is my current config for CentOS 4.x
        [root@Host zabbix]# rpm -qa | grep net-snmp
        net-snmp-utils-5.1.2-11.EL4.10
        net-snmp-libs-5.1.2-11.EL4.10
        net-snmp-5.1.2-11.EL4.10
        net-snmp-devel-5.1.2-11.EL4.10

As u can see, there is nothing wrong with your system. try "vi configure" and change the net-snmp path. this problem occurs in 1.3.9 (beta) and should not be happening on 1.4.2 installation. Also check (ps aux | grep net-snmp) if the snmpd process is running.
