I am just wondering if there are standards or drafts out there to share topology and alarm correlation information. I think it's best to make this clear with an example:
Say I have a fiber connection and I have monitoring on it. Inside such a physical connection there are different levels of logical connections. Now when someone cuts the fiber you'll see all logical connections alarm together with the physical connection. When you are monitoring this connection in an upper level NMS there is as far as I know no automated/ standardized ways to correlate all alarms so that you will only see the physical alarm popup instead of all logical alarms. It would be really nice if different systems would have some sort of interface in which this information is automatically shared and updated.
