I think dependent items should have the formula field from calculated items (the ability to use last, sum, ect functions)

It seems a really handy missing feature in Zabbix is a TEST ITEM button.

When configuring a new host and adding items to monitor there is no way to fire the item immediately and see any errors/debug returned.

This would make troubleshooting non working items a breeze....

Managed to get my head round the API thanks to the .org docs. Most helpful.

I'm using a Python wrapper (linked to on wiki) and I can execute all the API I need to create a new item but I can't add it to an already existing Graph....

I think that zabbix lacks an automted way of generating maps, one way would be to use the user defined dependencies between triggers to generate an hierarchy map of hosts.

What do you think?

As of 1.8.2 we can't add Web Monitoring to templates. That would save a lot of time when we want to monitor sites that are hosted in multiple machines.
