ZABBIX is an all-in-one 24x7 monitoring solution without
high cost. ZABBIX is released under the GPL, thus it is free
of charge for both commercial and non-commercial use. The
full license is available at

This document contains the release notes for ZABBIX 1.3.
This is the first release in a series of pre-1.4 releases.
The release supports MySQL only.
Do not use this release in production! It is for early beta
testing only.
The following sections describe the release in detail and
provide late-breaking or other information that supplements
the main documentation.
What's New in 1.3
:: Distributed Monitoring
This release introduces functionality for distributed
monitoring. ZABBIX distributed setup supports up-to 1000
nodes which all can be configured either locally or from a
central location.
:: ZABBIX front-end Installation Wizard
The Installation Wizard provides a convinient way of
installing and configuring ZABBIX frontend.
:: Many templates per host
A host may have unlimited number of linked templates. This
simplifies configuration and maintenance of ZABBIX setup
very much.
:: New group permission schema
Permissions are defined for user group on per host group
level only.
:: SLA downtimes
SLA downtimes are supported for better calculation of
service availability.
:: Stacked graphs
Yes, stacked graphs!
:: Flexible item refresh interval
Items may have different refresh intervals for different
period of time.
:: Fixes
* numerous fixes and improvements

No upgrade scripts are provided for migration from 1.1.x.
Please do not upgrade! The release may or may not work on

ZABBIX Server has been compiled and tested on the following
platforms:
* Ubuntu Linux, AMD64, kernel 2.6.11, MySQL 4.x
* Ubuntu Linux, Intel, kernel 2.6.15, MySQL 5.0.22
ZABBIX Agents
ZABBIX Agents have been compiled and tested on the following
platforms:
* Linux 2.6.11 (Ubuntu)
* Windows XP
* Windows XP 64bit
Note that agents are available pre-compiled from
http://www.zabbix.com/download.php for a limited number of
versions and platforms.
