Just thought I'd add for anyone having networking issues with Zabbix, I have used Zerotier to avoid these by in effect running Zabbix across the virtual LAN Zerotier creates.
Free service up to a 100 client machines on the virtual LAN so may be useful in avoid firewalls etc..
