Maybe it is possible to create a description field to the "Host" form. This description could be displayed each time you hover your mouse over a hosts name using a tooltip in various screens (we use the {Hostname} field in the description of a trigger).
This would explain a name like AA-XL20-2_108.1 more clearly to other then datacom engineer (ex: Router "Customername" at location "Location") so when no datacom engineer is at the office, other engineers can locate and maybe solve a failure.
