Hi
The XML export/import is not as easy as I thought.
Especially in the case where templates containing links to other templates
are involved.
OTOH: This problem has been solved for similar tasks as this
only represents a tree of templates.
Exporting should be done from the leaves to the root, so that
inimport the leaves are imported (= created in the DB) first and
therefore they can be used as reference during the import of the
referencing (higher level) templates.
It is not really necessary to export all items, triggers and graphs explicitly
for every host, just template references are needed for templates. Single
items and triggers which are added to a host and are not in a template are important, though.
However, there is one exception to this rule: exporting a single host !
Then it might be a good idea to either export all the items or be able
to select export all necessary templates, too.
In R5512 during import I get the error message for the child templates
"Access deny".
As others have stated before: we'll need this working to save/restore
the configuration settings.
Regards
Norbert.
