I have one server that monitors hosts in one subnet and I'm planning setting up another server that will monitor another set of hosts in another subnet.
Since these are geographically disparate subnets, it makes sense to have separate zabbix servers monitoring locally to the respective location. My question is should I setup a "distributed monitoring" model and configure the new zabbix server as a NodeID=1? What does this do for me? The alternative is to have them be completely segregated and not know of each other.
Also, with the release of a proxy 1.6, how does this interact with the distributed monitoring of the server nodes? Which node does it talk to?
Thanks,
Rafael
