I would like to be able to make items based off of other items
Specifically. In MySQL there are a lot of fun calculations that you can do against the SHOW VARIABLES and SHOW STATUS output to determine performance metrics
I would like to be able to dump all the basic SHOW STATUS and SHOW VARIABLES into zabbix as items (which was the easy part).
I would prefer to be able to template out new items for hosts by making items which look like this
( key:Threads_connected / key:max_connections) or something to that effect.
It seems sort of redundant and awkward to do all this math on the agent side.
Especially because its going to grab both items involved in its normal polling. but then its going to grab both items again which it grabs the equation involving them.
