    Number of Postgres connections

I have Zabbix up and running, but I was looking at the number of connections to the database that Zabbix holds.

Currently (while it doesn't appear to be doing anything) it's 14 (it was 21 before I tweaked some of the config file settings.) Postgres appears to allocate 50MB per connection which is 700MB RAM on the database server just for Zabbix!

These 14 connections relate to the number of servers that are started.

Do all these servers need starting or can I trim them down a bit more? The number of pollers is set to 5. Is there any side effect of cutting this to 1 or 2? I'm only monitoring 5 hosts, 135 services and 2 web scenarios at the moment (this will increase to roughly double in the next couple of weeks.)

Or is there anything I can tweak on the Postgres side to get the RAM allocations down a bit more? (The database server is a rented box with 1GB RAM.)
