    Help needed linking two elements

    Hi,

I'm struggling to change the color on a link between two elements when theres a network problem between the two, using the icmp simple check. I've googled and look through the documentation but there's not much info out there. I'm doing something wrong but can't figure it out, any help very much appreciated

It doesn't thanks, I've linked two element types of 'host' together and can't work out how to get the link colour to change for example when host b is unreachable from host a.

I am tying each of my "links" using the "Dependancy" that is linked to my simple icmp check for that device.

          For Example:
Host A has a link to Host B and lets say my Zabbix front end sits somewhere behind Host A.

I create my two hosts and then the link between them. Before I finish the link I click on dependancies and tie the ICMP ping check for host B. I figure if I can't hit host B then I want Host B to go down AND the link. When you click on dependency you will link your trigger and the color for it in that state.

Thanks for the reply Mike, I've sent a PM - when I set the link status indicator for hosts a to b and apply the changes in the host elements the color changes, however when I save the map and go back into the properties the trigger to change the link colors disappear

I've got the same problem, but I think it's a bug. There is also problem with using national characters (outside ASCII range): map breaks and changes are not saved.

              Look here: https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-1546

Thanks for that, same issue I have - thought I was loosing it and missing a step . I find the link indicators disappear when you save the map. go straight back in and their gone.

How do I change the color of the line that connects hosts according to incident?
