For a mature Forum like ours,
it's still unbelievable how many loose questions we get about the zabbix install phase.
"Can't connect to my Zabbix Server"
"Failed to connect to database: Error: Access denied for user ''@'localhost' to database 'zabbix'"
"Can't get a Trigger to send an email"
Every single week there's a 'new' thread exploring the theme.
I propose there should be created an additional 2, 3 Sticky threads patiently explaining step by step how to pass these repeated difficulties most new users get.
Cookbooks:
*Deploy Zabbix in a newly created DB:
- link to the online Manual with some extra remarks like a warning to watch the zabbix_server_log for error info
*Create your first monitoring Scenario:
- Link to the online Manual and briefly explain Zabbix's Host | Template-> Item -> Triggers -> Actions -> Notifications (+ Users permissions) natural flow
For starters, this would help the most experienced Users save Time to reply the really interesting questions about custom Scenarios and Zabbix evolutions
