I am pretty new to Linux and Unix. I walked into a position at a company that is using Zabbix to monitor percentage of system.swap.size. I was told that it might be better and a better indicator of problems by capturing system.swap.in/system.swap.out.
My understanding is that the system.swap tool is kind of like page caching in windows... but since I am not quite grabbing the overall concepts its hard to try to determine what is a better field to monitor.
Any suggestions or explanations would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
Joel
Also... was i allowed to create a new thread or did I just break a rule?
