Hi I've just discovered Zabbix and looking into using it as a trending front end let me explain.
I have multiple nagios systems set up monitoring different environments, I also have cacti graphing I would like to use zabbix to collect this data from nagios without touching my nagios configuration (as I dont want to disturb my working environments)
I'd like to have my zabbix appliance separate from my multiple environments so babsicly a server that sits and monitors all my monitors
is it possible for zabbix to read all the data nagios reports and to collect it so I can put alerts in zabbix when things begin to trend across environments.
I'd like to discover if this is possible in zabbix as it allows you to build custom web screens where you can put a minimal amount of information on screen
My other option is nagios and RRD then a seperate RRD web front end but that involves me touching my current nagios setups which i dont want to do.
