Hello Zabbix Users,
is it possible to have the network discovery using the value which is given in the Hostname parameter in zabbix_agentd.conf?
The problem is that the hosts are registered in dns with another name as the one which is being used as their hostname. This is strange I know, but I cannot change it. But then I get a whole of a lot of messages in the log telling me that the list of active checks cannot be send to blabla (hosts aliases).
I have tried setting the "alias" and the "name" file of the inventory by filling it automatically by the item system.hostname. But the value is not being shown in the host list.

Or other question: is it possible to update the "Host Name" field in the hosts properties by some item value?
