    only monitor enabled network interfaces?

At one of our sites, we have an odd mixture of 64 network switches with a grand-total of 1922 ports, less than half of which are actually used.

I was really pleased with the low-level discovery, as it meant I didn't have to build a bunch of templates to monitor these switches.

But now, zabbix is monitoring and storing information about well over 1000 ports, which we do not want either as it consumes resources which we prefer to put to more relevant use.

This leaves me with the choice between
    - disabling some 8800 items (+1100 interfaces * 8 items per interface), or
    - manually creating a bunch of templates, which won't be too different from
    - manually creating some 6400 items (+800 interfaces * 8 items per interface)

Needless to say, none of these options is appealing.

And yet the solution seems simple enough. The ports which are not used, all have ifAdminStatus 2 (= down).

So is there a way to tweak the low-level discovery so that only interfaces with ifAdminStatus 1 (= up) are discovered?
