Active Checks for Win32 machines

So I've decided that active checks are the way to go for my Win32 systems that are seperated from my zabbix server by firewalls. Does anyone have any templates out there that are similar to the built in ones that come with zabbix that do the same monitoring, only with active checks? Is this even possible? I thought I read somewhere that the active checks are limited.
