monitoring mysql on zabbix

I would monitor the mysql database from a remote server via zabbix machine.
my question is whether it is possible to do so without install zabbix agent on the machine. I have the connection parameter that allows me to log on mysql database on the remote machine. on the GUI I do not see too how it goes with the monitoring of mysql zabbix.
if any idea on how to monitor the mysql database to a remote machine it will be a pleasure to read
