Where to get status of a link in DB

Hello

I'm new to zabbix. So far it seem's very good !

I want to replace my opennms and cacti installation with zabbix.

In my cacti installation I'm using php-network-weathermap.

I have found some script to use on internet but they are old.

I have found how to get value but I need to know when a link is down to return a special value.

Can someone say me where to get it in db and which syntax it use ?
