Hi all,
I am trying to avoid to talk about other products but this time I'd like to ask this question because I need this feature badly. I never used Zabbix before so I am a bit confused with terminologies at the moment. I know that Nagios has a concept 'parent host' which can determine:
1. if hosts behind the parent should be marked as unreachable when it is shown as DOWN
2. if notification for hosts behind parent should be disabled while it is DOWN
Does Zabbix have the same or similar concept?
Also, I'd like to ask if it is possible to configure multiple parents and control the notification with it. For example, let's say host A has two parents host B and C. Is it possible to configure:
1. only when host B and C both go down, host A becomes unreachable and notification for host A is disabled
2. either host B or C goes down, host A becomes unreachable and notification for host A is disabled
Things like those.... Is it possible with Zabbix?
The reason for that feature is important is, we have some wireless devices to monitor and they are structured with mesh. Apparently, when one parent goes down, the child devices automatically changes its gateway to another parent, which means it should be still shown as reachable. Hopefully, I could explain the situation clearly. Thanks very much.
