Hi Folks,
I am new to Zabbix and got some trouble setting up discovery rules and automatically adding the discovered hosts to a group that is linked to templates.
First of all I do manage to add these hosts by a rule that discovers the host and enables them and then afterwards add them manually to templates. But I cant get it working in an automatic way.
What I need is to find a solution that enables me to set up the zabbix_agentd.conf like a template so that I can use it for every host. I played around with "hostname", "System.hostname", "System.hostname [-f]" but either the host registers with its IP to the zabbix-Server or with its complete FQDN. The Agent.log and the Server.log always say the there is no host with the name "hostname". What is clear because a host with "hostname" and there is an IP or otherwise an FQDN in Zabbix-Database biu never the simple hostname.
So what do I Need to do to set up the agentd.conf to send the full FQDN or otherwise to send the simple hostname without configuring it in each config for every host seperately?
My second question is how to set up a discovery rule to find and add hosts by SNMP and then link them to a template. I guess my Problem is that I do not know what to set up in the OID Option because I am absolutely unexperienced with SNMP.
I set up a rule with discover service type snmp-v2 and then?
Or are there any things I Need to set up else?
Sorry for my noobish questions but may be you could help me please.
