Do ping items share fping results?

If I have three items using icmppingloss, icmpping and icmppingsec on a single device, each with an interval of 60 seconds does Zabbix;
a) treat them individually, pinging as required by each item every 60 seconds or,
b) ping the device as required and share the ping results with the three items?

Not a huge deployment (~1k devices/10k items/ 130nvps), just thinking of scaling as it grows.
