Scenario:
Client asked how many times a certain interface went down in a given period of time. That interface happens to be the public IP interface and is also the same interface that we use for SNMP monitoring.
Question is, does Zabbix have any way of knowing that the machine is unreachable because the interface status changed (interface driver crashed) vs any other number of issues that could cause a lost connection?
I have noticed an odd interface status down message but I'm not sure if that is just a fluke or if Zabbix is able to ascertain the status after the interface is available again.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
