How to configure Zabbix to only send alerts for the active host in an HA pair

Hello, first time user for the Zabbix forums as well I have about a year experience with Zabbix so go easy on me! LOL. I did do a search for this but didn't find what I was looking for. So please any help is most appreciated.

Scenario: We have two F5 LTM's..one is active and one is standby but due to the way the F5's operate the standby device is still polling the nodes/members for the pools marking them up/down in the event there is a failover the standby F5 LTM will activate and all connections will continue with minimal disruptions. We have many triggers and alerts set up for these LTM's and currently the way it is configured both LTM's send the same alerts when triggers are true. This means we receive twice as many emails for the same issue. We thought about disabling the standby device in Zabbix leaving the active device enabled but this could present issues during a failover so we would like to make this automated if possible..so on to my question.

Question: Is there a way to configure Zabbix using templates or some other method to determine what F5 LTM device is active and only have Zabbix send the alerts we have setup for the active device to our emails?

Thank you so much for the help!
