Zabbix 4.2 install: use docker or CentOS packages in production ? Zabbix on Azure?

I've been using Zabbix 4.0 and 4.2 in a test environment to learn the product, test its usefulness for various monitoring scenarios, build up some custom templates, etc.

Now it's time to bring up a fresh 4.2 install for production.

I would normally use the Zabbix package install on a minimal CentOS machine on VMware ESXi (starting with Zabbix server & MariaDB on the same server, then scaling out via proxies & optionally a separate DB server if required).

Are there any strong drivers for or against using Docker containers for Zabbix?
What day to day complexities does the docker version add or remove vs the normal "installed from packages version"?

Has anyone successfully deployed Zabbix to VMware's direct container hosting service (can't remember the same, but it removes the need for CentOS guest VMs etc)?

Looking ahead, has anyone successfully deployed & is using Zabbix on Microsoft Azure?

    Cheers,
