For some time now, I keep having trouble with Zabbix collecting data. From the front end, some hosts are available and a majority of them are not available with the error: "gethostbyname() failed [Host name lookup failure]"
I used nslookup on my Zabbix server and was able to reach the target host. I tried using an IP address instead of hostname and it still fails. I am monitoring boxes with a variey of OS. The error shows up across all hosts. There are 1 or 2 boxes that show up as available for some reason. This is very curious. I can't seem to find a prblem anywhere.
I check the server log file and it didn't show anything abnormal.
Can somebody help with this?
