Host items based on web service call or template based using external dll

Hi Guys

Need some direction here, I am trying to find some documentation on how to set up host items that are retrieved from web services/WSDL or a way to setup host items via DLL or some kind third-party integration.

Couple of the devices I am monitoring are now moving to web API, and no longer developing SNMP MIB.
