Hi I'm fairly new in setting up zabbix, hence this post.
in our environment we have different type of objects , some respond to the agent some to snmp some to ping only.
We would like to use autodiscover to find these network components/servers etc ...
So i've setup an autodiscover rule with our ip range and added the 3 ways of discovering hosts.(zabbix agent /snmp / icmp)
but i notice that we can only select 1 item on how to show this host
dns/snmp OID / zabbix hostname
now not every component has been provisioned in our dns.
so is there a possibility that zabbix will act differently in naming the component depending on the way it discovered the host?
like this for example
SNMP - use snmp oid .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0
ICMP - use dns
zabbix agent - use zabbix.hostname?
thanks in advance
